Last month, the Center hosted Equitable Resiliency in New York City, an event that explored how rising flood insurance costs are threatening housing affordability in flood-prone neighborhoods across the city. We would like to say a huge thank you to our attendees, sponsors, panelists, and keynote speaker Jamie Rubin for making the event a success.

Take a look at what some of our presenters and attendees had to say about Equitable Resiliency in New York City:

At the event, we released a report titled Rising Tides, Rising Costs that explores how flood insurance changes and increased flood risk threaten the housing affordability of the 400,000 New Yorkers living near the city’s coastline. We also launched FloodHelpNY.org, an easy-to-use website designed to provide information and guidance to homeowners about flood insurance and their flood risk.

As we continue to work on this pressing issue, we plan to focus on consumer education and community outreach. Are you interested in getting involved? Visit FloodHelpNY.org today and help us spread the word by sharing it via email, Facebook, or Twitter.
